A little dangerous, a bit crazy, highly creative and ready to rock the dance floor, Defected bring you les enfants terribles of house music.
We’ve been away far too long, and we are ready to get back into the party vibe, our last event was way back in Oct 09 and we are itching for some serious quality house, and once again we think we have cracked it, just look who we have lined up.
Sandy Rivera headlines, this bad bwoy of dance perceives himself to be on a perpetual journey, planes, trains and automobiles, judging by his genius it is certainly not the same journey as the rest of us. After all he is the guy behind the ‘ultimate’ (and I do not use that word lightly) gold plated, house classic ‘Finally’. He appears to be one of the halcyon producers of our time, with three albums under his belt, a guy that has been touched by the ‘rock and roll’ spirit, a spirit that rubs off on the crowd when he plays; Sandy Rivera remains a bit dangerous, has a tough main room sound and is simply an unmissable dj.
This brings us to another New Yorker, a guy that now has a discerning London following due to his excellent ‘Kiss My Black Ass’ parties. Quentin Harris is a larger than life character; his sound is deep and soulful, hard but always funky. He has chosen this date as the place to unveil his second album ‘Sac-ri-fice’, a sexy album that he has produced with some incredible collaborations including legendary divas Inaya Day and Ultra Nate. He will be showcasing tracks for the album in his set.
The final addition to the line-up is the infamous Riva Starr, this is his MoS debut, a guy who’s become the darling of Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Pete Tong and every other credible DJ out there. He shocked us all with his brilliant, highly original, gypsy inspired track with Noze ‘I was Drunk’ which featured a video of slightly grotesque looking characters. He describes himself as the true ‘mezcla’ a mixture of all the best things about house music. He has just released his debut mix album: ‘Defected In the House Miami 10’.
Joining us in the Bar, you will find fashionable West Londoners and Defected newcomers The Jinks, they have teamed up with London scenester James Jackson and our newest roster signing the singing and DJing Rae. Finally listen out for a rare appearance by Zouk (Singapore) international resident djB paying us a very special visit.
Special Offer: Pay £22 for entrance to MoS and receive a ‘Defected In the House – Miami 10 mixed by Riva Starr’ CD album.
